My background in human resources has given me a love for benefits both for businesses as well as individuals. Working for several large companies in their benefits departments, I learned the “ins and outs” of group business insurance and all facets of their programs and products. As a Human Resource Manager, I built a department from the ground up, turning one part-time consultant position into a full-service HR department. My experience in human resources gave me an understanding of the challenges that businesses have in providing and maintaining competitive programs for their employees.
After years in human resources I transitioned to the brokerage side of benefits. My years of work as an Account Manager in a local brokerage company and then with a financial planning company taught me the insurance industry. I understand the pressure employers have to find a benefit plan for their employees at a cost they can afford. I also understand the confusion individuals encounter in evaluating the multiple choices offered to them and ultimately making the final decision on the right medical plan for them.
